What are the traits we associate with Taurus? The typical key words are often stubborn, slow, un-movable, laid back, calm, loyal, steadfast. A sign that doesn’t let you see when they get hot under the collar. And they have extraordinary patience.

Taurus truly is a most patient sign. After all, they are a fixed sign and probably have the highest degree of fixity of any sign in the zodiac. Patience comes very naturally to Taurus. If you know a Taurus, you may understand this about their nature. And if you know a Taurus that is impatient, well, they most likely have fire and/or air influences in their astrological chart. I quite literally witnessed the patience of the bull one day at the farm animal sanctuary in Woodstock, NY. I happened upon a pen with a young bull. He was not full grown and had small horns, actually very sweet. He was not with his family, but alone in his pen with the exception of a pig. That’s right, a Vietnamese pot-bellied pig. The pig had two little piglets, but she wasn’t paying much attention to them. Instead she’d spend her time harassing the bull. This was not a good roommate situation. The pig followed the bull all over the pen, wherever he walked, she was right behind him. And she snorted and squealed and would not shut up. From my vantage point, it seemed she was nagging him, taunting him and just plain annoying him. But the little bull did nothing, he tolerated it, swung his tail and seemed to ignore her. It was amazing, because any other animal or human who was being nagged would have reacted much sooner than this bull.

Then it happened: his patience wore out. You can push and push and a Taurus will tolerate it. But after a long, long time, they will snap. So, this sweet little bull, who had tolerated a nagging, snorting pig for who knows how long, turned around and faced the pig. And he bowed his head so his horns pointed straight in her direction, and he began to kick the dirt under him. He was ready to charge.  The pig, who now was faced directly with this bull, began to shriek very loudly and back away quickly, for she knew if she didn’t back off, she’d regret it.

I was fascinated. I felt I had my own National Geographic moment happening right in front of me. But I truly understood the energy behind that patience. So, don’t push a Taurus too much, because eventually they’ll charge at you and that could be very unpleasant.
